    “Tour” was ok.

My husband and I came for the tour, though it felt more like a viewing area than a full walkthrough. You go up onto a platform and look through windows to watch how everything operates and is made. It was interesting, and definitely nice considering it’s free. I gave four stars mainly because the prices in the gift shop, especially the cheese, were quite high. Most items seemed to be about $5–$10 more than what you’d pay elsewhere. The food itself was decent.

    Waste of time!

We were here about 5 minutes. You walk in to eating places to the left and merchandise for sale to the right. You can go upstairs to see how things are made. We visited here years ago before the big remodel and it was so nice. I think the charm has been lost. It is so commercialized now. A tourist trap that I would not recommend.

    Fun stop

We made the stop on a recent trip and glad we did. We made a self guided tour and spent time watching cheese being made. Great for kids. Nice resturant on location.

    An Oregon Coast must do!

Chances are that you came to the Oregon Coast to enjoy the world class scenery. And while you shouldn't miss any of that, you also won't want to miss out on this educational, fun and tasty stop in Tillamook. We hadn't been in about 5-6 years, so were excited to get back. The self guided tour is fun for newcomers, but we've seen that so just walked over to the cheese samples. It was late in the day and not too crowded so we were able to get several different samples. Then came the shopping. We love their cheeses and the gift shop sells some that we can't find in our local stores, we we loaded up on some of the less common cheeses. Finally, comes the stop at the ice cream shop where we each got a huge waffle cone. For $5, it was totally worth it. So for food and fun, make this one of your stops on your coast itinerary.

    Some of the best Cheese

Stopping at here, is a must for family road trips down the coast. The remodeled/new visitor center is more spacious and open, but I do miss the charm of the older one. Lots of cheese and many exclusive items to the factory, but expect on most to pay FULL retail pricing for most items. Lots of Tillamook Cheese branded souvenirs and cheese related items available for purchase and of course cheese samples. I missed when the samples were more varied than the pre-packaged samples they had during our visit, as what they are had were prepackaged snack sized items that are available at many retailers for purchase, so you are getting to try anything new as a result. Watching the cheese work in the factory line is always enjoyable, and will have more activity on the line during the week, instead of the weekends where staffing is lower in the production lines. Can get VERY busy on weekends, and parking can be at a premium as traffic/visits are much higher on weekends, Budget at least 30 minutes to an hour to get a fully experience with your visit, Also.... buy some cheese to take home!
